Export Lexus LX570 Review US Auto Enterprises 1-888-705-6787

All New 2011 Lexus LX570's ready for export world wide delivery call now! 1-888-705-6787

We are also taking orders in on the all new 2012 Lexus LX570 Call Now!
The Lexus LX 570 a big, luxurious sport-utility vehicle; and in some respects an idea of luxury that's come and gone—one in which safari-chic was in, and bigger was always better.
It's a bit conflicted in purpose, and the way this huge SUV performs emphasizes that it's neither an ideal on-road family wagon nor as deft an off-roader as the Land Cruiser on which it's based.

The LX 570 is powered by a 381-horsepower, 5.7-liter V-8, and it shares core components with the Land Cruiser—which means it's a very stout (6,000-pound) vehicle, with a body-on-frame
construction intended for long-term durability and off-road performance. With its responsive six-speed automatic transmission and Torsen limited-slip differential system, the LX 570 performs well, with passing and acceleration a snap, but its heft is never far out of mind when maneuvering or braking. Maneuverability on tight city streets can be challenging, and there's not a lot of cornering capability built in; there's a lot of body motion, and the steering is almost fingertip light at some times. Tow ratings range up to 8,500 pounds.

While Lexus seems to be openly discouraging serious off-roading treks with the LX570 by not offering any off-road options or accessories, the vehicle does have a high-clearance capability; active height control can raise the body a couple of inches at slower speeds to aid ground clearance, then lower it at higher speeds to reduce aerodynamic drag. Crawl Control also helps in low-speed maneuvers over boulder-strewn paths or scree-strewn hillsides.

The LX 570 has a seating arrangement that's quite a bit different than those of most other luxury SUVs, and there are good and bad points to it. As is typical, the third row is hard to get to and it's quite cramped. The second row seats are considerably more adult-sized—although a little flat. While the second rows fold and flip fully forward to expand cargo space, the third-row seats flip up and rotate to the side—allowing, more easily, a flat, continuous load floor for longer cargo items. The disadvantage to the setup is that the third-row seats can't be completely removed.

The cabin is tight and quiet, with low levels of road and wind noise, though the bellowing engine isn't hushed up to Lexus levels of refinement and can be heard even when cruising in some situations. Be ready for a ride that's somewhat cushy but involves lots of body motion in cornering as well as heaving over bumps.

The 2011 Lexus LX 570 comes loaded with comfort, convenience, and entertainment features, and there are even more luxury upgrades available to equip the LX 570 at the level of any other prestige-level SUV. Bluetooth and a nav system are included, and from features like a 180-degree camera that can see each way at a blind intersection to power-assist middle-row seats, there's a lot to love in the everyday-useful feature department. And if that's not enough, optional extras include a rear-seat entertainment system, radar-adaptive cruise control, and a 19-speaker Mark Levinson audio system. African Bubinga wood trim, heated and ventilated seats, and custom wheels are also available.

Lexus Press Release; All New 2012 Lexus RX450h ready for export world wide delivery call now! 1-888-705-6787 US Auto Enterprises.com

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/b0vOH10q2AU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Luxury Options

An available 12-speaker system audio system comes with the optional Comfort Package or rear seat entertainment systems and includes two-rear-door tweeters and a compact, L-shaped subwoofer in the rear-luggage compartment.

The optional 15-speaker Mark Levinson® Surround Sound system allows listeners to enjoy 330 watts at 0.01 percent THD through 7.1-channel surround sound. The Mark Levinson system, a Lexus exclusive, features a center channel coaxial speaker, metal-cone midrange speakers, tweeters and a 100-watt amplified subwoofer. A 2.5-inch speaker built into each D-pillar provides the right and left surround-sound channels. The diffusion of sound provides each occupant the same level of audio quality.

The available Hard Disc Drive (HDD) navigation system eliminates the need for DVD map discs and offers a unique voice recognition system, which can work using casual-language inputs on certain functions. An optional rear-seat entertainment system includes two high-definition seven-inch screens, one on each of the front seatbacks. Each screen can display video from separate sources. A remote control allows independent control of each screen. Rear-seat occupants can also choose to listen to audio through the wireless headphones instead of vehicle speakers.

The available wide-view side and backup cameras help provide the driver with a wider range of visibility. The driver can check hard-to-view areas by simply pressing the camera-select button on the steering wheel or, when in reverse, viewing the camera images on the navigation screen. An optional back-up camera displays images on the eight-inch navigation screen; systems without navigation have a 2.5-inch display in the rear-view mirror.

RX 450h also offers a telematics system, Lexus Enform® with Safety Connect®, available by subscription. Complimentary one-year trial subscriptions are included on all purchases of new Lexus vehicles equipped with these features. Safety Connect is standard on all vehicles while Lexus Enform with Safety Connect is on all vehicles equipped with the optional Navigation system. The Lexus Enform and the Safety Connect response centers operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week—every day of the year.

Lexus Enform vehicles are factory ready for subscriptions to a variety of innovative SiriusXM services including NavTraffic, NavWeather, Sports, and Stocks.  SiriusXM services include complimentary 90-day trial subscriptions and require separate audio and data subscriptions.

Exterior Design

The Lexus RX models blend a dynamic version of L-finesse design to create a sleek profile that is accentuated by broad “shoulders” for an athletic yet elegant presence. Bright finish side-window moldings follow a subtly concaved line across the A– and C– pillars, extending at the front and rear ends.

The Lexus design cue of placing the grille lower than the headlights, along with sharper headlight graphics, yields a strong frontal expression. The RX 450h offers standard halogen and optional HID and LED headlights. The RX 450h’s unique grille features a finer pitch than on the RX 350, creating a fluid-like surface, accentuated by its silver color.

Pronounced front fenders flow into the doors, and integrated rear fender flares neatly sweep around to pull together the taut rear corners of the vehicle. The lower body emphasizes the standard 18-inch wheels. Passenger doors extend below the entry sill, helping keep out dirt and moisture.

Several exclusive design features, including the grille and front bumper, distinguish the RX 450h hybrid from the RX 350.  Exclusive optional LED headlights offer a more distinctive appearance as well as longer life and lower energy consumption. Lexus hybrid blue is used for the front and rear emblems, hybrid logos, rear combination lights, and headlights.

A distinctive feature of the door handles is that the surface subtly twists outward from the front to the rear to give a comfortable grip. The side mirrors feature integrated LED turn signal lamps.

The rear spoiler’s primary function is to help lower the vehicle’s Coefficient of drag (Cd), but it also conceals the rear wiper and houses the AM/FM radio antenna and high-mount stop lamp.

Interior Design

Based on Lexus L-finesse philosophy, the dramatically designed interior clearly separates the interior into two distinct zones – the “display zone” to provide information, and the “operation zone” for interaction with controls.  The shoulder of the door trim comfortably envelops the occupants, the clear line of the trim beginning inside the cabin and tapering outward toward the exterior.  The design imbues a feeling of a continuous line encircling the occupants and defining the controls and displays. Neatly sculpted metallic surfaces, especially on the asymmetrical center stack, showcase a bold contrast of shadow and light.

A high contrast white Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) is used for the multi-information display located next to the speedometer.  Vibrant white characters are sharply displayed on a high-contrast black background for ease of use and a luxurious appearance.  For the RX 450h, blue accented meters strengthen the hybrid image, and a hybrid system indicator replaces the tachometer to encourage driving in an economical manner.

In addition to an Eco Driving indicator light, RX models feature an Eco driving indicator zone that displays current fuel economy using a bar graph and alerts the driver when they are achieving low fuel efficiency.

To help reduce driver distraction and wasted movement, Lexus engineers strategically placed several features close to the driver including the multi-information switch, the Remote Touch console-mounted navigation controller and the optional Heads-Up Display. The available eight-inch navigation display (or seven-inch audio/HVAC display when navigation is not ordered) is placed at a higher, more distant position, providing a more natural visual angle. A multi-information switch on the steering wheel allows the driver to access numerous function settings without taking hands off the steering wheel, and reduces the number of individual switches, contributing to a cleaner instrument panel. Vehicle settings can be customized according to personal preference, including personal door-lock preferences, interior/exterior light adjustments, driver’s seat easy exit, and window-closure settings.

The available navigation system can be controlled using either the Remote Touch device or by utilizing voice command. Remote Touch allows the user to operate the navigation system, climate, audio, phone controls and more.  The screen menus are selected with the controller, eliminating the need to reach out and reducing eye movement.

The attribute that most distinguishes Lexus’ navigation controller from other devices in other luxury models is its “haptic”-feedback technology, which provides a tactile response to the hand.  As the user operates the controller near a screen icon, the cursor is pulled to that icon with feedback from a servomotor in the device enabling the user to feel it “click” into place.  The driver or passenger makes a selection by pressing the side enter button on either side, and the feedback servo is adjustable for sensitivity.  The system then confirms the action with a subtle sound.  Remote Touch integrates the functions of seven hard switches used with the previous touch screen, helping users to operate those functions with reduced effort and distraction.

The available Heads-Up Display (HUD) utilizes white readouts.  High-intensity LEDs project high-contrast white figures onto the windshield, which are easier to read – and easier on the eyes – than the typical green-colored readouts. The HUD offers displays for speed, navigation, and audio. A wedge-shaped windshield interlayer for the HUD projection area eliminates the distracting printed grid pattern seen on some other vehicles equipped with HUDs.

Export Lexus World Wide at US Auto Enterprises.com Call 1-888-705-6787

The Lexus LS 460 soldiers on into the 2012 model year with minimal updates, with both the standard LS 460 and long-wheelbase LS 460 L remaining, and once again offered with the option of rear-wheel or all-wheel drive configurations.

The only change for the 2012 model year is the introduction of Nebula Gray Pearl instead of Smoky Granite Mica.

Power still comes from a 4.6-liter V-8 engine rated at 380 horsepower and 367 pound-feet of torque. However, if you opt for the all-wheel drive model this dips to 357 horsepower and 344 pound-feet of torque.

An eight-speed automatic also remains, helping the big sedan accelerate from 0-60 mph in a brisk 5.4 seconds. Opt for the all-wheel drive model and you’ll take 5.9 seconds for the same sprint.

Fuel economy comes in at an EPA-rated 16/24 mpg city/highway rating, 16 city/23 highway for the all-wheel drive.

An available Sport Package adds 19-inch alloys, as well as Brembo brakes, stiffer suspension, a distinctive bodykit and paddle shifters for the automatic transmission.

Luxury features include an available 19-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, Lexus Enform telematics and connectivity, massage functions, Alcantara trim, eight airbags, and an array of safety sensors.

Export Lexus World Wide US Auto Enterprises Call 1-888-705-6787

And as hinted by the Lexus GS prototype recently caught testing on Nurburgring, the next generation models will be more dynamic to drive – why else would they bring it to Green Hell and back?

They will look sharper too, as we’ve seen from the LF-Gf hybrid concept. The report adds that Lexus models will have a major change every three years, alternating between sheet metal and powertrain, like how BMW does it.
Besides the sportier new GS, which will debut early next year, the dowdy Lexus ES (pic above) will be redesigned in the summer of 2012 to look more different from donor car Toyota Camry. Its handling will be sharpened and there will be a hybrid option good for 40 mpg (14.2 km/l) combined.
Later in 2012, the compact IS sedan will be re-engineered, based on a shrunken version of the new GS platform. The good looking current car has been around since 2005, so it’s about time for a new one.

The brand’s flagship LS limo will remain for 2012, as a redesign is only due in spring 2013. Apparently, weight saving technology using premium materials is a main focus point, and Lexus will stick with a V8 engine for the range topping hybrid variant. The RX SUV will soldier on till 2014.
Lastly, an “LFA Roadster” will be offered, after the current run of 500 fixed top units is done, plus a one-year gap. That should be around mid 2014. It’s not too big a surprise, as Lexus has shown a topless LFA concept before. Can you imagine the sound of that V10 without a roof in place? It’s gonna be epic for sure!
Stiff competition forces carmakers to keep improving, which is good news for us, the consumer.

Export Lexus All Models World Wide Call 1-888-705-6787

The following is a review on the new 2012 Lexus LFA

We've heard a few figures bandied about since the Lexus LFA was introduced, but now the official price tag for the U.S.-bound supercar has been announced. Base price: $375,000. And that's not including the unspecified destination and handling fees.

That MSRP has the potential to swell when you start adding the options, but for the 552-horsepower supercoupe's discerning clientele, it won't matter. In stock form (Configuration 1) buyers have the option to coat their thrones in either leather or Alcantara, with Configuration 2 bringing navigation and the stellar Mark Levinson surround-sound system. Option up for Configuration 3 and all the aforementioned goodies are yours, along with the Lexus Enform system with Safety Connect.

Of the 500 LFAs set to go into production this December, less than half are slated to make their way to the States when deliveries begin in January, and even if you've got a cool $400k burning a hole in your pocket, you can't buy the LFA outright. To thwart speculators, Lexus is only making the LFA available on a two-year lease with a firm intent to purchase. If you've got the means, make the jump for the official details.

Configuration 1 – Leather or Alcantara®-trimmed seats.

Configuration 2 – Leather or Alcantara-trimmed seats, Lexus Navigation System and Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound system.

Configuration 3 – Leather or Alcantara-trimmed seats, Lexus Navigation System, Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound system, and Lexus Enform™ with Safety Connect™. Customers will be able to customize the LFA with 30 exterior colors, six brake caliper colors, and 12 interior colors. Some choices carry an additional cost.

The Lexus LFA is exclusively powered by a sophisticated new high-revving 4.8-liter V10 engine that generates 552 horsepower at 8,700 rpm and 354 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 6,800 rpm. The engine is mated to a unique six-speed Automated Sequential Gearbox (ASG) with paddle shifters that enables ultra-quick gear shifts (0.2 seconds) with four driving modes – AUTO, SPORT, NORMAL and WET for exceptional versatility.

Lexus' supercar accelerates from 0 to 60 in 3.6 seconds and achieves a maximum speed of 202 mph thanks to an independently controlled throttle body for each cylinder, high-volume 12-hole injectors, dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), low-friction engine components, and equal length exhaust manifolds.

Lightweight, powerful and balanced, the LFA features advanced Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) construction for its chassis and bodywork to deliver a light, incredibly strong and impact-resistant structure. To help provide superior handling and braking and traction control the LFA features track-tuned lightweight aluminum alloy suspension components; six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers to grip the Carbon Ceramic Material (CCM) brake rotors; and a specially calibrated Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) system.

The low-slung LFA exudes supercar styling with Lexus design philosophy in one cohesive form. Its clean, muscular and athletic design is complemented by extraordinary aerodynamics for optimal drivetrain cooling and superb high-speed handling. Its incredible exhaust note is possible by the multi-stage exhaust system that exits through a stacked trio of exhaust outlets. The LFA's exterior styling is further enhanced with BBS® 20-inch forged-aluminum 10-spoke wheels available in three different finishes.

"After years of development, Lexus is able to offer driving enthusiasts an exciting and exclusive combination of performance and luxury in a sleek supercar package. It's thrilling to know that in about a year, you just might see one driving down the street," said Templin.

Export Lexus All Models US Auto Enterprises Call 1-888-705-6787

Jun 17, 2011 – It’s a case of better late than never, but Toyota deserves some credit for finally correcting a marketing deficiency by fitting its Lexus-brand IS 350 sport sedan with all-wheel drive.

Granted, this might not seem like an Earth-shattering development, but it does strengthen the IS’s case in the compact sport-luxury sedan segment. You see, during the past decade, this über-competitive segment has seen the number of AWD models swell the existing product mix. For example, take the big three: The Mercedes C-Class has three 4Matic versions (C250, C300 and C350), BMW’s 3 Series has the 328i xDrive and 335i xDrive and Audi only recently added a front-wheel-
drive model to its A4 quattro line. Plus, Infiniti has expanded its G sedan series with the G25 to go with the G37 — both with available AWD. Up until the 2011 model year, however, the Lexus IS line had only the entry-level 250 with available all-wheel drive. Now, the IS 250 AWD is a decent start for those wading into the sport-luxury segment for the first time, but its small engine size (2.5-litre DOHC V6) and horsepower (204) leave it somewhat outgunned as a truly sporty all-weather sedan. Throw in another litre of displacement and an additional 102 horses — as is the IS 350’s specification — and you now have espresso instead of cappuccino.

In AWD form, the IS 350 is an exceedingly agreeable ride. Some armchair quarterbacks think of it as an alternative to the aforementioned BMW 335i xDrive and, indeed, there are enough similarities in size, power, fuel economy and performance to make the case. But, there is also a genteel side to the Lexus that makes it more of a boulevardier, albeit one with a 3.5L V6 packing 306 hp worth of muscle. Don’t get me wrong; genteel does not mean wimpy. The IS 350 AWD has legitimate sporting bona fides. Put your foot into it and the drivetrain hooks up immediately, launching the 1,656-kilogram four-door to 100 kilometres an hour in six seconds. But, as is Lexus’s wont, it’s also equally smooth and quiet — more so than in a Bimmer — which makes it deceptive. On a couple of occasions while on the highway at what I thought was a normal cruising speed, I checked the speedometer and found the car going 20 km/h faster. “But, officer, the car is just so damned silent.”

Being an enthusiast, I’m disappointed that only the rear-wheel-drive IS 250 is available with a six-speed manual transmission. However, as a pragmatist who spends a lot of in-car time dealing with traffic congestion, the IS 350’s six-speed manumatic — with paddle shifters — is an acceptable compromise. Personally, I prefer manually shifting using the console-mounted lever, but Lexus has the IS configured so that upshifts require the lever to be pushed forward, while a tug backward brings downshifts — counterintuitive to my way of thinking. So, to avoid any possibility of executing a downshift when I wanted a higher gear — definitely embarrassing and possibly disastrous, depending on the situation — I used the paddles. The resultant quick, precise shifts proved more than satisfactory.

More than satisfactory also applies to the IS 350 AWD’s handling and road-holding. The sport sedan demonstrates prodigious grip when weather conditions leave the roads greasy. The car’s Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management system — which electronically links the vehicle stability and traction control systems as well as the well-weighted electric power steering — is properly sorted out, stepping in to prevent wheel slippage before it results in a slide or skid.

A “mature” car, the second-generation IS has been around since the 2006 model year. Fortunately, due to its passing resemblance to the BMW 3 Series, notably in profile, it has aged well. This year, the line gets updated fog lamps and a new grille design, revised rear backup lights and turn signals as well as a new exhaust pipe tip. Inside, the cabin is a little more dated, lacking the latest gee-whiz graphics and super-high-tech controls. Frankly, I enjoy the simplicity. Besides, the instrument gauges are sharp and bright, the buttons are large enough and properly marked and most everything naturally falls to hand.

My biggest beef with the car remains its lack of rear-seat legroom — at 6-foot-2, I can’t get even attempt to squeeze into the back seat if the front seats are back in their tracks. Yes, it is a compact sedan — emphasis on compact — but this limitation stretches the car’s notion of being a usable four-seater. A lesser but costly annoyance is that the V6 requires premium unleaded, which is outrageously overpriced in relation to regular. My week with the tester resulted in a fuel economy readout of 13.1 litres per 100 kilometres, not terrible considering I gave those 306 ponies a decent workout whenever I could. By comparison, I averaged 12.4 L/100 km when I tested the IS 250 AWD a while back.

At $44,950 (base price), the IS 350 AWD enjoys a significant price advantage over the $52,100 BMW 335i xDrive; not at all against the far roomier $43,450 Infiniti G37x sedan — and the G remains one of my favourite AWD sport sedans.

So, what’s the final tally? Well, AWD makes a lot of sense in our four-season country, and the IS’s system doesn’t detract from the car’s inherent rear-drive handling demeanour. The engine is certainly powerful enough and is smooth as glass. Its ride quality is good and the front-seat accommodations are comfortable.

As a four-seater, the IS 350 makes a great 2+2. It’s been on the market for six years and, although it’s been refreshed a couple of times in the interim, most of its rivals are newer.

The Lexus LS 600h L sedan was the 1st vehicle to bring fuel efficient gasoline electric hybrid technological innovation towards the prestige high end segment when it went on sale for that 2008 model yr. After receiving revised styling and telematics techniques for 2010, Lexus’ flagship hybrid sedan carries over virtually unchanged for 2011 using the exception from the discontinuation from the optional Active Stabilizer Suspension Method and Truffle Mica exterior.

LS 600h L Hybrid

The LS 600h L – the “L” signifying the long wheelbase LS platform    gives the highest level of performance, technological innovation and luxurious in the LS line. Engine/Transmission/
Drivetrain/Performance

The LS 600h L hybrid powertrain program uniquely combines a 5. liter V8 gasoline motor with two effective electrical motors plus a large capacity battery pack. The hybrid powertrain generates a peak combined output rating of 438 horsepower and can effortlessly accelerate the LS 600h L from zero to 60 mph in just 5.five seconds. Mid range acceleration is even much more impressive. The system’s electric powered engine is capable of delivering maximum torque on demand and is most beneficial throughout passing maneuvers. The LS 600h L can accelerate from 50 70 mph in just 3.five seconds.

The revolutionary V8 functions an electric powered motor driven Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT i) and Electrically controlled intake cam (VVT iE). The blend of VVT iE and oil pressure controlled VVT i for that exhaust cam provides superior engine startup operation and high output overall performance. A specially developed Hydrocarbon Absorber and Catalyst Method is linked to the two way exhaust to assist prevent hydrocarbons contained in the exhaust from being released into the atmosphere in the course of cold start up when the catalysts are not as much as temperature.

Vehicle Overview
Lexus redesigned its five-seat RX crossover for 2010, with the gasoline RX 350 carrying over a similar V-6 drivetrain. Because its electrically assisted V-6 grew to 3.5 liters from 3.3 liters, the RX 400h became the RX 450h. Slight exterior tweaks differentiate the RX 450h from its non-hybrid sibling.

Front-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive optional. The non-hybrid RX 350 is covered separately in Cars.com's Research section.

What's New for 2011
Changes are minimal for this model year. A 12-volt outlet has moved from inside the center console to outside for easier access, and models with the optional navigation system lose the compass from the inside mirror because the nav system has its own compass. The Sport Package is no longer offered. The RX 350 adds a brake override system for 2011, but that feature was already standard on the RX 450h.

Exterior
Though it's a few hairs taller than its predecessor, the RX 450h looks more carlike than ever; its dimensions, now also wider and longer, give the crossover a wagonlike stance. In back are frosted taillight effects similar to those on the previous RX. Eighteen-inch alloy wheels are standard, with 19-inchers optional. Exterior features include:

   * Blue-trimmed Lexus logos
   * Unique grille and front bumper design
   * Blue-tinted headlights and taillights
   * Optional LED headlights

Interior
Like Lexus' other hybrids, the RX 450h's display screen can show the power flow between the drivetrain's electric motors, engine and battery. In place of the RX 350's tachometer is a gauge showing electric-motor assist versus battery recharging. Other features include voice-recognition software that Lexus says will pick up conversational prompts rather than traditional formal, specific commands. High-tech options include a head-up display with LED lighting that's purportedly bright enough to read on a sunny day. The interior also features Lexus' Remote Touch system, which uses a knob to navigate menus on the dashboard display screen. Interior features include:

   * Cloth seats standard, leather optional
   * Real wood interior trim
   * 10-way power front seats
   * Third-row seat not offered

Under the Hood
The RX 450h uses a gasoline 3.5-liter V-6 that's assisted by electric motors, creating up to 295 combined horsepower and estimated city gas mileage of 30-32 mpg. It can cruise on electric-only power at low speeds. Like other hybrids, its electric motors draw power from the friction of deceleration, called regenerative braking. Mechanical features include:

   * Standard front-wheel drive
   * Optional all-wheel drive
   * Separate motors power front and rear wheels in all-wheel-drive models
   * Continuously variable automatic transmission
   * Premium fuel recommended
   * Towing capacity of 3,500 pounds with optional package

Safety
Ten standard airbags include four in front — the two required chest airbags plus two knee airbags — as well as seat-mounted side airbags for the first and second rows. Head-protecting side curtain airbags span both rows. Other standard safety features include:

   * Active front head restraints
   * Four-wheel antilock brakes
   * Traction control

Overview
The LS is the largest sedan in the Lexus line. It's available as a short- or long-wheelbase, with a long-wheelbase hybrid as well. The LS is a similar size as the Audi A8, BMW 7 Series, and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Unlike the sport sedan bias of the 7 Series, the Lexus LS is geared toward comfort and a posh interior. Luxury standard fare includes 16-way adjustable driver's seat, heated steering wheel, and 10-speaker audio.

The LS 460 and 460 L are powered by a 4.6-liter, 380-horsepower V-8. The wheelbase and overall length of the L model are just shy of five inches longer than that of the standard model, and some of that added space translates into rear-seat legroom. The hybrid model benefits from that as well, as it's only offered with the long wheelbase.

The LS 600h L hybrid's power system employs two electric motors plus a 5.0-liter, 389-horsepower V-8, delivering a combined power output of 438 horsepower. The 460 uses an eight-speed automatic; the hybrid has an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission.

The Range
Body styles: Sedan
Engines: 4.6L V-8, 5.0L V-8
Transmissions:
8-speed automatic, continuously variable transmission (CVT)
Models: LS 460, LS 460 L, LS 600h L

What's New
For the 2011 model LS, a 12-volt power port was added to the storage area in front of the shifter. Air suspension had been standard on all-wheel drive models; now coil suspension is standard and air is optional across the line. On hybrid models, the adaptive variable power stabilizer suspension system is no longer available. There is a new Sport Package, with sport suspension, brakes, transmission program, and styling cues.

Exterior
The LS is attractive, but its looks do not make it stand out in a crowd. Standard wheelbase is 116.9 inches; long wheelbase is 121.7. The trunk can hold 18.0 cubic-feet of gear.

Interior
The LS's cabin is whisper quiet and the leather-wrapped interior is comfortable, too, making this car a wonderful place to spend time on the road. Executive Seating adds lumbar massage, power recline, and rear-seat DVD system.

Performance & Handling
A smooth ride is the one of the strong points of the LS line. When it comes to being a driver's car, however, that part of the experience is somewhat lacking. Testers have referred to this car as being numb and uninvolving. The LS 460 reached 60 mph in 5.8 seconds (600h L took 5.6) and brakes in 120 feet from 60 mph (122 in 600h L). Suspension is on the soft side, but handling is still respectable.

Safety
Dual front airbags, dual front side airbags, front-passenger twin-chamber airbag, side curtain airbags, and dual front knee airbags are standard across the LS lineup. So are disc brakes with four-channel ABS, electronic brake-force distribution, and stability control.

EPA Fuel Economy
LS 460, 460 L: 16 mpg city/23-24 mpg highway
LS 600h L: 20mpg city/22mpg highway

The 2011 Lexus GX ranks 15 out of 17 Luxury Midsize SUVs. This ranking is based on our analysis of 18 published reviews and test drives of the Lexus GX, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.

The 2011 Lexus GX 460 is a serious off-road SUV. Reviewers say it’s great if you need a rugged luxury vehicle.  But, if your travels keep you on the pavement, there are better options out there.

The Lexus GX is one of the few luxury midsize SUVs that is capable of serious off-roading. In fact, reviewers say it’s one of the better off-road SUVs in the class. On road performance, however, is a different matter.

“For SUV shoppers who truly need off-road prowess and towing capability in their luxury SUV, GX 460 is well worth considering,”
says Consumer Guide. “However, most buyers would be better served by the superior fuel economy and more-polished road manners of crossover SUVs such as the Acura MDX, Mercedes-Benz M-Class, or Toyota's own Lexus RX."

If you truly need the GX’s beefy off-road capabilities, reviewers say you’ll be impressed with its luxurious interior. Seating for seven is standard, as are features like Bluetooth, a USB port, leather and a rearview camera. When you start checking option boxes, the GX becomes almost space age: available intelligent cruise control and five cameras keep an eye on the road ahead, alerting the driver of impending collisions while simultaneously priming the brakes and tightening seatbelts. While those features are impressive you can get similar ones from the competition -- often at lower prices and with better fuel economy. You just won’t be able to go as far off-road as you would with the GX.

Overview
Lexus' interpretation of the Toyota Land Cruiser first went on sale as the LX 450 in early 1996. The full-size body-on-frame sport/utility got a significant upgrade for 1998, when it became the LX 470. But arguably, the most significant generational difference was in 2008, when the LX 570 went on sale.

The new eight-passenger model has new styling, is bigger and heavier, yet this three-ton plus ute moves out like a rocket ship, speeding to 60 mph in only 6.5 seconds. That impressive feat can be credited to the LX 570's powertrain, a 383-horsepower, 5.7-liter V-8 backed by a six-speed automatic. It's a workhorse, too, capable of towing up to 8500 pounds and equipped with enough technological goodies and downright toughness to make it nearly unstoppable off-road.

For the majority of people who will never see dirt or rocks in the LX, there are still more than enough standard creature comforts to make them happy, too, plus options like a 19-speaker Mark Levinson surround sound system, park assist, and rear-seat entertainment.

There are some minor changes for the 2011 Lexus LS. There is a new black interior with leather trim. A heated steering wheel option has been added to the Luxury Package, which includes semi-aniline leather interior with Bubinga wood trim and a cool box for drinks. The LX receives a brake override system, too. Other than that, the color Costa Azul has been discontinued.

Exterior
The new LX looks like a cleaner, smoother version of the previous model -- and an awful lot like the Land Cruiser on which it's based. The LX rolls on 20-inch wheels as standard equipment, and the wheels in the Luxury Package add a Liquid Graphite finish.

Interior
The commodious, three-row cabin of the Lexus LX has a variety of leather/wood interiors, 14-way driver seat and 12-way front passenger seat, and a 19-speaker surround sound system. The third row power folds out of the way and the second row power slides.

Performance & Handling
The Lexus LX 570 moves a lot faster than a 6164-pound sport/utility should, going from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds. That the 5.7-liter V-8 has 115 more horsepower than the engine it replaces doesn't hurt. It also brakes from 60 mph in 133 feet. Handling is not its strong suit, but it is certainly competent in turns.

Safety
Dual front airbags, dual front knee airbags, first- and second-row side airbags, and three-row side curtain airbags are standard. The LX also comes standard with disc brakes with ABS, brake assist, electronic brake-force distribution, and stability control.

The 2011 Lexus RX 450h ranks 5 out of 17 Luxury Midsize SUVs. This ranking is based on our analysis of 29 published reviews and test drives of the Lexus RX 450h, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.

The 2011 Lexus RX Hybrid blends a luxurious interior and a refined powertrain with excellent fuel economy.  Though it’s expensive compared to the gas-only RX, reviewers say it’s an excellent hybrid SUV.

The Lexus RX 450h is like that old Reese’s commercial. With the RX hybrid, Lexus got a hybrid in their luxury and luxury in their hybrid.  The result, reviewers say, is a combination that’s like chocolate and peanut butter: very satisfying.  Go for the RX Hybrid and you’ll get a high-end and high-tech interior, smooth performance, and the satisfaction of saving some gas.

The LX 570 is powered by a 381-horsepower, 5.7-liter V-8, and it shares core components with the Land Cruiser—which means it's a very stout (6,000-pound)
vehicle, with a body-on-frame construction intended for long-term durability and off-road performance.

The US Auto Enterprises experience is unique. You can manage the entire process, from purchase to shipping using only your mouse and keyboard. "The big Mercedes SUV is such an indulgence: yards and yards of beautiful black leather, substantial headrests, rich chrome trim, bountiful and sumptuous room for seven. With the GL350's turbocharged diesel V-6 engine, the EPA says the GL will eke out 21 mpg on the freeway, which is perhaps one way to justify the use of such a massive and heavy vehicle as a people carrier, when for most owners a minivan, perhaps even Mercedes-Benz's own R-class, would suffice. If it seems like I have mixed feelings about the GL-class, I do: I can't help but admire its looks and its capabilities, but I also can't ignore its wastefulness. [Admittedly, I have the same feelings when I get into a Range Rover.] That said, the Bluetec diesel at least attempts to address that issue, and it's a damn fine powertrain.

Twenty-three miles per gallon out of a monster like this is pretty darn impressive, but that's the trip computer's indicated mileage over the last 700-some journalist-driven miles. Granted, the EPA's rating for this vehicle is a more modest 17 mpg in the city, 21 mpg on the highway, and 19 mpg combined, but even those numbers are very good for a 5400-pound, seven-passenger vehicle.

Captaining the GL350 feels a bit like driving a bus, which is appropriate, since there are four seating positions with the LATCH system for kids' car seats. Unfortunately, you'd have a tough time getting to the two children in the back row, but if your kids are old enough to buckle themselves, the GL-class makes a solid ritzy alternative to a minivan." - Automobile Magazine
