The LR4 is the fourth mid sized SUV that Land Rover has delivered, with a new 5-liter V8 and a neater center console. Exterior styling got a major spruce up with LED tail lights, a Dual Bar grille and much improved aerodynamics. The LR4 delivers the opulent interior and 4-wheel drive capability it has built it’s notoriety on since 1948. Though the engine of this model is a half-liter larger than the one in the previous model, it gets the same gas mileage as the LR3. The interior features luxury furnishings like leather seats and Dual-Zone Climate Control. The Terrain Response system and hill descent control make the LR4 more than adept of taking on the most demanding trails. The LR4 comes in one very well-equipped trim level. The 5.0-liter engine has 375 hp and 375 lb-ft of torque, with a ZF 6-speed transmission and full-time 4-wheel drive. With this combination, the LR4 goes from 0 to 60 mph in only 7.7 seconds. The optional Electronic Air Suspension not only improves handling at both high and low speeds, it can be used to raise the LR4 as much as 2 inches to clear obstacles or lowered by 2 inches for easier loading. Terrain Response, a standard feature on the LR4, allows the driver to select settings for different terrains using a handy dial.

A new Sand Launch Control feature helps keep the wheels from spinning when starting from a dead stop or when increased control is required in low-speed driving. Hill Descent Control with Gradient Release Control allows the LR4 to do all the amazing things it can do, like tackle extreme slopes. The LR4 also has dynamic stability control and trailer stability assist, but those features seem almost mundane compared to these other technical assistants. A Harman-Kardon sound system with MP3 auxiliary hook-ups and touch-screen controls are standard. A navigation system and Bluetooth connectivity also come standard.
